UMass Amherst: Celebrating Student Achievements and Strengthening Industry-Academia Collaboration
May 2023 - On May 10th, the University of Massachusetts (UMass) Amherst hosted the Senior Design Showcase for Mechanical & Industrial Engineering (MIE) students. A total of 28 teams participated, presenting their innovative designs as part of their capstone program. Each team’s work was assessed by a panel of six judges including MIE department members and UMass faculty. The university also invited local business leaders and entrepreneurs to participate as judges and to bring a practical perspective to the evaluation process. From Aviation Summer Camps to Aerospace Engineering: The Inspiring Work of Belcan Engineers in Kentucky
Lexington, KY – May 2023 - The Aviation Museum of Kentucky's Aerospace Education Center organized its inaugural Girls in Aerospace program, designed to inspire girls ages 10 to 17 to discover aviation and aerospace and consider careers in the field. The program, funded by NASA Kentucky at the University of Kentucky, featured a lineup of 10 accomplished presenters who demonstrated different aspects of the industry and proved that aviation and aerospace offer an exciting and diverse range of career opportunities. Platteville, WI. April 2023 - On April 20, 2023, the University of Wisconsin-Platteville hosted the eighteenth annual Women in STEM Banquet, an occasion dedicated to networking and honoring the accomplishments of women in STEM and creating a supportive community for women in these fields. Over 260 individuals, including graduating seniors, company representatives, faculty and staff, alumni, and guests, were present at the event.
