Putting Our Values in Action
Within the Communities We Inhabit
CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY
At Belcan We Believe in Giving Back
We are committed to giving back to the communities where we live and work. Belcan and its employees have made significant contributions to many local charities including holding food drives for the Freestore Foodbank, supporting the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, helping our seniors through Meals on Wheels, partnering with Journey Home’s Aerospace Employment Program to assist the underserved Connecticut population by providing training and full-time employment opportunities, participating in annual softball charity events, throwing internal office fund raising events for STEM programs, and more. Other charities we support include Habitat for Humanity, United Way and the Diplomatic Security Foundation.
At Belcan we believe in being good corporate citizens and in having a lasting impact on our communities and our youth. It’s more important than ever for younger generations to be equipped with the knowledge and skills to solve tough problems, gather and evaluate evidence, and make sense of information. These are the types of skills that students learn by studying science, technology, engineering, and math—subjects collectively known as STEM.
The Belcan Code of Conduct defines expected ethical behaviour by all Belcan employees. It requires and expects everyone to conduct business fairly, impartially, and in full compliance with all laws and regulations. Equally important is to conduct business in a manner consistent with the stated Purpose & Principles that are the foundation of Belcan. All employees should:
- Maintain integrity in all business transactions.
- Protect Belcan and customer intellectual property.
- Avoid inappropriate behaviour that reflects adversely on the company.
- Avoid even the appearance of any conflict of interest.
- Report any violations of law, government regulations, or company policies.
- Report any indications of inappropriate behaviour that are inconsistent with these guidelines.
Any incidents of inappropriate behaviour should be reported to a company leader, their manager, or the company Ombudsperson.
Our philosophy is to build an inclusive work environment to attract and retain talented people, encourage innovation, and inspire top performance from employees to achieve superior business results by putting people first.
