Cincinnati, OH (June 13, 2014) – Belcan, a supplier of engineering services was recognized with a Superior Performance award from Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing North America, Inc.(TEMA) at the Annual Indirect Supplier Business Meeting (ABM) on June 13, 2014. The meeting was held at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington, KY. The Annual Business Meeting brings together approximately 300 supplier representatives from all Toyota production facilities in North America.

Toyota centralized their Indirect Purchasing functions in 2011; this year marks the 3rd Annual Centralized Indirect Supplier Business Meeting. The ABM allows Toyota to discuss business objectives with indirect suppliers in preparation for its upcoming fiscal year. Each year, Toyota recognizes suppliers who exceeded the company’s expectations in several categories.

We are pleased to award those in our supply base who go above-and-beyond. This event emphasizes our mutual commitment with supplier partners to continuously improve and build a long-term, stable supply base that offers the best products at the best price.

Robert Young, TEMA Purchasing Vice President, ensured the suppliers “Toyota is committed to enhance our collaboration, collective capabilities and pace of innovation in our pursuit of Always Better Cars.” 

In the U.S. alone, there are about 60,000 supplier jobs dedicated to Toyota across more than 30 states. In addition, Toyota collectively spent over $27 billion on parts, goods and services last year in North America.
