Nuclear Industry Experience
For over 30 years, Belcan has successfully completed projects in the nuclear industry. Our experience ranges from providing technical professionals to supplementing our clients' workforce to performing full-service engineering projects.
Security Clearances
Belcan places personnel with required DOD and DOE clearances. Belcan is capable of handling DOD security clearances up to the secret level. In addition, our executive team members hold Security Clearances. In fact, one of Belcan's current projects involves secret governmental work on jet engines.
Providing Supplemental Personnel
Belcan began providing supplemental personnel to the nuclear industry in the late 1960's. Our scope of services ranged from low-level technicians to engineers with DOE clearances. Over the past 40 years, we have supplied resources to companies such as Babcock & Wilcox, Struthers Wells, Alice Chalmers, and Fernald.
One example of the work our engineering group has performed in the nuclear industry is a project for GE Fuel Manufacturing in Wilmington, NC. This work included the design of equipment for the fuel rods and fuel pellet inspection stations as well as an overall capacity upgrade. These projects were largely manufacturing process improvements aimed at reducing cost and increasing throughput.

Project: Provide the team for the design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of a complete turnkey handling facility for nuclear submarines. - British Nuclear Fuels Limited
Project: Provide technical professionals for a major decommissioning project. - Sizewell (joint venture of Framatome, Mitsui Babcock and Alstec (Alstom))
Project: Supply technical professionals as the "Preferred Supplier" to Alstom for 3 of their UK sites. - General Electric Nuclear Health
Project: Provide Physics Technicians.
