Heavy Equipment

Belcan’s heavy equipment design team is a preferred supplier to our major clients and are fully engaged in all aspects of their engineering activities including design, analysis, documentation, and quality control. Our specialties include: diesel engine installations for emission updates, hydraulic lines routing, electrical schematics, embedded software and controls, harness routing, and harness prototyping/short run production. Our staff analysts are experienced in linear and non-linear structural finite-element analysis.

We have been involved in 3-D product design for over 15 years for a variety of clients across multiple industries: heavy equipment, consumer products, medical, aerospace, transportation, and industrial manufacturing. Our staff's experience also includes military/defense projects, controls development, and governmental engineering work. We are experts in solid modeling, surfacing, sheet metal, routed systems (electrical and hydraulic), welding, drawing creation, advanced feature creation, large assembly management (20,000+ components in top level models), Virtual Audits, Assembly Sequence Animations, Pro/NC, Pro/Manufacturing, and a variety of PDM systems (including Pro/PDM, Windchill, Metaphase, Team Center Engineering, and Team Center Enterprise).

Our primary design platform is Pro/E and our average user experience exceeds 10 years (with some approaching over 20 years). We also have current proficiency in Solid Edge, Solid Works, and Autodesk Inventor. By leveraging skill sets and software expertise among all Belcan engineering offices, we have the ability to scale up personnel and projects quickly. We have certified trainers on staff and are deeply involved with local universities and technical/community colleges. This gives us the ability to hire and/or train skilled resources very quickly when needed.

All of our engineering operations are ISO 9001 certified. The majority of our projects involve collaborative design working with remote clients. We have been very successful working these projects in part due to our understanding of developing strong customer relationships, strict adherence to ISO processes, and our use of online conferencing and collaboration tools.
