Reliability Block Diagrams

Belcan completed a Relliability Block Diagram (RBD) for the 6 different flight controls on the redundant F136 engine control system using Safetree Software.

This project consisted of a characterization of the Full Authority Digital Engine Control (FADEC) functions, Fuel Metering Unit (FMU), After Burner Control (ABC) and the Component Actuation Module ( CAM ). Also, included in the analysis were the various fuel pumps, pressure and flow controls, fueldraulic actuators and the supporting tubes.

Belcan determined failure rates for each function in order to calculate the overall system failure rate per million hours.

Belcan provided system failure rates to the customer.
